SENse Learning Services

The SENse Learning Approach and Offer

Our team of Specialist Teachers and Learning Support Assistants provide holistic tuition for children with additional needs who are out of school or in between placements, taking place in the student’s own home and out in the community. We also have a student centre based in Staplefield, West Sussex.

We put relationship building, interest led learning and social, emotional and academic focusses at the forefront of what we do. We understand the importance of building a trusting professional relationship in order for young people to access learning and flourish. We pride ourselves on matching staff to students through skill, experience and interests. Our team has in-depth knowledge of a broad range of conditions and in addition, can support anxiety and complex mental health issues.

We can work with young people who are out of school, part attending or who need support within a school environment. Our students usually have an ‘on roll’ school named on their Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) or may have ‘Education Other Than At School’ (EOTAS). Our team is experienced in liaising with schools and other professionals to achieve the common goal of re-engagement to a more formal education environment or onto a career pathway.

Our bespoke plans are created with the child at the centre, working to their pace and particular needs, utilising their interests and a variety of engagement methods. Once they are ready for more directed activities, we have a ‘Menu of Options’, we offer accreditation in Functional English, Maths and Essential Digital Skills (Entry level 1 – Level 2) through NCFE as well as ASDAN qualifications and Arts Award certification to ensure a broad and balanced curriculum offer for all abilities. We also offer programmes to support students with any social communication and anxiety needs they may have.

We work with local authorities across the country, who are seeking specialist student learning solutions and can accept referrals from families with individual personal budgets. An assessment process, which includes a home visit, will take place once a referral has been made

At SENse Learning we can offer in house training and consultancy on the following:

Our team of expert trainers have delivered training to attendees all over the world, and have led on expert panels at conferences including Tes.
